ENTANGLED EMOTIONS - PERFORMANCES
Jeppe Hein’s sculptures and installations are always an invitation to be explored, used and tried out in order to enable people to enter into dialogical, interactive contact with the art. Euphoria honors this participatory element of Hein’s works with a performance series curated for the inauguration of the outdoor sculptures on the SKYPER forecourt. Three performances will take place on the evening of September 19th, incorporating improvised music, dance and performance to highlight the identity of the new sculpture and its role in the city, while emphasizing the togetherness and community-building nature of art in urban spaces.
The four musicians Dana Barak (clarinet), Delphine Roche (flute), Špela Mastnak (percussions) and Adam Woodward (violin) as ensemble, all formerly or today members of the acclaimed Ensemble Modern Academy, will improvise, first as soloist and then coming together as a quartet.
The artist Luis Garay presents a performance in which two figures, representing different aspects of city life, come together. Their interaction with Jeppe Hein’s sculpture illustrates the diversity of city life and highlights Frankfurt’s vibrancy and adaptability.
The choreographer and visual artist Emmilou Roessling will put on a performance that uses Jeppe Hein’s sculpture as a central stage. She playfully explores how bodies interact with urban objects and transform them. Roessling invites the audience to experience the exciting relationship between bodies and the artwork and to discover the potential of the body in urban environments.
